No longer a rumor, beginning next year, Photokina will become a yearly event, and that’s good news for the industry. The world’s largest trade show for photography, video and all things imaging runs from September 26-29, 2018, and May 8-11, 2019, in Cologne.
In addition to the schedule change, Photokina is embracing a more compact, intensive event. The show is moving from five days to four, to reflect the fast-paced nature of innovation and change in the industry.
The show is further re-positioning itself with its “Imaging Unlimited” banner introduced in 2016 and carrying that forward. In addition to photography and video, Photokina is covering virtual and augmented reality, cloud computing, as well as image recognition and holography. The imaging workflow, for both professionals and enthusiasts, from capture to process to storage, delivery and sharing continues to evolve, and Photokina aims to “serve as an important international innovation platform” for photographers and other creatives.
