Against a backdrop of natural beauty at the Bar Horseshoe Ranch in Mackay, Idaho, photographer David Stoecklein gives us a unique perspective of what goes in to creating his iconic shots of the American West—in this case, fourteen horses, four cowboys and the patience to wait for perfect light.
The ultimate goal of Stoecklein’s work, whether it be for a major advertiser or his own personal portfolio, is imagery that finds it’s ultimate expression in the print. "All this work," says Stoecklein, "and everything we do, results in the great print we can hang in the gallery later."
