BEST: Epson SureColor P900 ($1195)
And finally, for those who want massive photos that will look great framed on a wall, the 17-inch Epson SureColor P900 prints large and life-like images but is not too big in size itself. In fact, the Epson P900 is 30 percent smaller than Epson’s previous 17-inch model and fits easily on a large desktop. Using Epson’s 10-ink Epson UltraChrome PRO 10 inkset with cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, gray, light gray, violet, photo black and matte black inks, image quality was superb with rich but realistic colors. The Epson P900 features a 10-channel MicroPiezo AMC printhead with variable ink droplets as small as 1.5 picoliters to produce precise detail. There are dedicated photo black and matte black ink channels, so no switching of ink tanks is necessary, along with a Carbon Black mode for deeper blacks in monochrome prints. Our black-and-white photos had eye-catching contrast and dramatic tones. Along with 17×19-inch cut sheet papers, you can print on roll paper with the P900 so your scenic vista landscapes can be output as long as you want them. The P900 has handy ease of use features including the 4.3-inch touchscreen on top, wireless connectivity, and an interior LED light so you can see the progress of your photo as it prints out.
