I live on the central coast of California and I drive 45 miles to and from work Monday through Friday. As you can imagine, doing the same thing over and over again can get mundane and stale. Yes, I get to see a California sunset, but it loses its' charm, its' beauty after seeing it every single day. That was how I felt until I started taking photographs. Then, I really started to appreciate the beauty of where I am living. I have my camera with me at all times and this specific night, I had noticed just how red the sky was in comparison to the ocean. I pulled over onto one of the wild beaches off the highway and decided that I just wanted to capture the distinct contrast of the ruby red evening sky and cold deep blue ocean. It might be a simple and minimalist shot, but it is in a way, hypnotizing.
