Image Description
A staunch devotee with several metal piercings through his mouth during a Hindu festival of Gajan or Charak, which is celebrated mainly in the last two days of the month of Chaitra (around mid April) in rural Bengal to appease Lord Shiva. The festival is associated with devotees painting their bodies, playing with fire, undergoing body piercings etc. to signify a form of penance. Mastering their fears is the key to undergoing such an extreme ritual. Such inner faith makes me wonder and get inspired.
