Image Description
Past, present, and future intersected at 6:05pm, April 4th, 2018. This moment marked the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination, attracting thousands from all backgrounds to descend on Mulberry Street in Memphis. As the commemorative bell sounded, thousands of eyes gazed upon the Lorraine Motel, hoping somehow to connect with Dr. King. In the eerie stillness I turned my back to the Lorraine and watched the sea of faces experiencing history, while making history themselves. One man’s eyes grip the lens and provide a narrative that words cannot express, reminding us that Martin Luther King’s dream is still very much alive.
