Top 5 Most Underrated Cameras For 2021: Canon EOS M50 Mark II

You probably didn’t know it but 2018’s Canon EOS M50 has been one of the best-selling mirrorless cameras in the world. And there’s a good reason: while the M50 didn’t break much ground in terms of specs when it was released, it delivered consistent quality for both photos and video at an affordable price. The follow-up model, the Canon EOS M50 Mark II (called the EOS Kiss M2 in Japan), doesn’t change much from its predecessor and that’s just fine with us. The M50 II has the same 24MP APS-C sensor and Digic 8 image processor as the previous model but improves on Canon’s Dual Pixel autofocus to include eye autofocus for both stills and video. You can also now capture vertical video with the M50 II and live stream your video directly to YouTube via a smartphone connection. We also like the vari-angle touchscreen LCD on back with a new tap-based video record button and movie self-timer, which should appeal to vloggers. A new tap-the-screen autofocus feature is also a plus. Otherwise, things stay pretty much the same on the M50 II including the ability to shoot 4K at 24P and capture slow-motion HD video at 120p. As the saying goes: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
