The new Alpha a5000 upgrades Sony’s entry-level NEX-3N mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera with the excellent 20.1-megapixel Sony Exmor APS-C sensor introduced in the a3000, the BIONZ X image processor used in Sony’s flagship a7 and a7R full-frame mirrorless models, and built-in WiFi with NFC (just tap to connect to a compatible Android device). You can also use WiFi to wirelessly transfer images to or control the camera remotely from an iOS device.
The NX300 is the world’s first single-lens 3D system. When the optional new 45mm ƒ/1.8 2D/3D lens is attached, you can shoot 3D stills and video that can be viewed on 3D-capable TVs and compatible devices. At the heart of the NX300 are a 20.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and DRIMe IV imaging engine. These result in high-quality images with reduced noise and improved color, as well as quicker performance—it can shoot at up to 8.6 fps (with focus locked).
Built-in Wi-Fi capability makes it easy to transfer photos between camera and smartphone or tablet, or control the camera with Samsung’s Smart Camera App. Hybrid Auto Focus uses both phase-detection and contrast-based AF to provide quick and accurate focus in a variety of shooting situations.
