- Description: This Killdeer was nesting on the side of the road in Anahuac Wildlife Refuge. It was observed while we were driving. The closer we got to the bird, it would run ahead of us and stop, then repeat it, trying to draw us away from her nesting area. After we passed it, we observed it go back to the nesting area.
