Photo Details
- Title: The Great Blue Heron
- State/Province/Region: Georgia
- Country: United States
- Nearest Area: Charlie Elliott wildlife preserve
- Nearest Town: Mansfield
- Description: While on a fishing trip with my husband we drove past this beautiful specimen on a dirt road. It was a beautiful scene and I couldn't pass it up! Risking that he flew away I asked my husband to back the truck up and hopefully I'd get the shot. I was in luck because this guy ,or girl, was standing its ground and never moved. It did however, during shooting, seemingly pose for it.
- Notes: No digital work done other than removing a reflecting tree stump from the upper left corner. It was ugly and distracting and I couldn't avoid it due to my limited shooting angles.
- Brief Directions: Charlie Elliott can be found 5 miles outside of Mansfield, GA.
- Best Season: Spring
- Gear: Pentax kx, tamron 18-200mm
