Photo Details
- Title: No Bridge Port
- State/Province/Region: Connecticut
- Country: United States
- Nearest Area: Congress Street
- Nearest Town: Bridgeport
- Description: Broken in the open positin, the Congress Street bridge is one of two bridges in Bridgeport that have been left broken in the open position for years, the other at Pleasure Beach. Since this photo was taken the road plates have been removed and the drama of this monument to municipal lethargy and incompetence is less visual. The neighborhoods are still disconnected from the city and businesses have failed or moved. You can't get there from here.
- Notes: Cropped and edited in Elements and filtered with Topaz. I walked out on to the end of a marina pier to get the perspective you see here.
- Brief Directions: Exit 27 on Northbound I-95 at Bridgeport. Straight at the end of the ramp and bear to the right to keep moving towards Harbor yard and continue as Water Dtreet taks you by the train and bus stations to become Housatonic Street. Take a right on to Congress and welcome to no bridge port. Exit 27 Southbound take a left under the Interstate and left again to follow these directions.
- Best Season: Spring
- Gear: Sony Cybershot DSC-P72
