Photo Details
- Title: Printing Buddhist Sutras
- Nearest Town: Dege Sutra-Printing House, Tibet
- Description: Buddhists believe great spiritual merits are gained by printing Buddhist sutras. This backbreaking work requires good coordination between the two printers! One printer coats a layer of ink on the carved wooden block and the other quickly places the paper over it. The paper is then pressed onto the block for the imprint and quickly removed for the next printing.
