Description: My wife and I were on our honeymoon this past August and were walking around Pier 60 in Clearwater, Florida. There were three men fishing off the end of the pier who were feeding small fish to a couple of pelicans. I could almost get within touching distance of them and they wouldn't even budge, just stare at me and pose. They posed for me several times like they knew what I was doing. Funny thing is, my wife was supposed to be my subject, but she was very patient with waiting until I was finished with the pelicans. She is very supportive.
Notes: Whenever a photographer gets an opportunity like this, it can't be past up. However, sometimes it can be risky. I was lucky that these two birds were well behaved...as long as I didn't have a fish in my hand that is. Always assess the risks involved before shooting wild animals or in potentially dangerous situations.
