Description: I planned to spend the last night of my recent trip, in Seattle. After some research, I chose this location in Beacon Hill to capture the motion of this bright and busy city during evening's twilight. I decided to shoot from a different vantage point than the popular bridge overlook, and found a spot to set up on a dirt road just below Jose Rizal Park. To make this shot work, I had to be a little untraditional with my technique. Not only did an originally preferred aperture of between f/8-16 not work for this scene, but I also ended up needing to pull my ND filter down as far as it could go, to achieve an exposure above 60 seconds. The length of the exposure was now sufficient to create both vehicle tail and head lights, and also capture this scenes vivid color.

Brief Directions: From Seattle, take the 5 freeway North to the Beacon Hill Area. Go a short distance East on Hwy 90, and take the closest exit for Jose Rizal Park.
