Photo Details
- Title: Booby Diving
- State/Province/Region:
- Country: Ecuador
- Nearest Town: Puerto Ayora
- Description: Blue footed boobies are best known for their funny and elaborate mating dance. Their method of feeding is also quite extraordinary as seen in this photo. They have shock absorbers in their skulls which permit them to dive into the ocean from amazing heights.
- Brief Directions: The only way to get to this part of the Galapagos is to spend a week or two on a live aboard boat trip. Galapagos Travel provides a great trip for photographers since they are often the first ones on each island and the last ones off, providing great access to good light. See their ad in the back of Outdoor Photographer.
- Best Season: Autumn
- Gear: Canon 50D Canon 100-400L
