DP Series
Professional Quality To Go
Sometimes you need to travel light, without sacrificing image quality. Sigma’s DP Series cameras have the power of
Foveon sensor technology—the same technology used in Sigma’s professional DSLRs—in a compact form factor that’s ideal for candid and travel photography, or any occasion when a DSLR is impractical. Despite being small enough to carry anywhere, the DP Series delivers picture quality high enough to
print beautifully in large sizes. The latest versions, the
DP1x and DP2s, remain true to the original DP Series but reflect several exciting upgrades. With a new rear design, the new
"True II" image-processing engine and the latest RAW-image-processing software, the DP1x and DP2s are full-spec digital cameras with all the
power of a DSLR.

Sigma Lenses
Sigma has refined optical technology and design to fully realize the possibilities of digital photography and offer photographers capabilities they won't find elsewhere.
Every Sigma lens delivers
optimum optical quality and smooth handling characteristics through a combination of uncompromising design and advanced technology. Sigma’s
precision engineering results in exceedingly dependable, world-class performance, so you can focus on the art of great image-making.
Sigma Lens Technology
“F” Low Dispersion (FLD) glass
“F” Low Dispersion (FLD) glass has been adopted and used in
Sigma’s new, high-performance lenses. FLD glass is the highest-level, low-dispersion glass available with extremely high light transmission. With a performance
equal to fluorite glass, this optical glass has a low refractive index and low dispersion compared to current optical glass. It also benefits from high anomalous dispersion. These characteristics offer excellent correction for residual chromatic aberration (secondary spectrum), which cannot be corrected by ordinary optical glass, and
ensure high-definition and high-contrast images. FLD glass offers superior optical performance, equal to fluorite,
at an affordable price. The density of FLD glass is lower than traditional optical glass, ensuring a lighter construction of large-aperture lenses.
FLD glass has been incorporated into three recently announced lenses. Four elements have been included in the Sigma 8-16mm ƒ/4.5-5.6 DC HSM, and two elements have been included in both the Sigma APO 70-200mm ƒ/2.8 EX DG OS HSM and the Sigma 17-50mm ƒ/2.8 EX DC OS HSM.
Stability When You Need It
Sigma’s OS (Optical Stabilizer) technology dramatically expands photographic possibilities by
reducing the effects of camera movement when shooting handheld. The OS system uses two sensors inside the lens to detect vertical and horizontal movement of the camera, and works by moving an optical image-stabilizing lens group to effectively compensate for camera shake. The OS function offers the equivalent to using a shutter speed
four stops faster, and provides precise compensation for camera shake throughout the entire zoom range—
a huge advantage for lenses like the 18-250mm ƒ/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM.
New Splash-Proof Design
In addition to enhanced performance with optical stabilization, the popular 120-300mm ƒ/2.8 EX DG OS APO HSM and 150mm ƒ/2.8 EX APO DG HSM Macro are among the
first lenses to feature Sigma's new
splash-proof design, making these already excellent lenses even more versatile with
extra protection from dust and precipitation for convenient outdoor use.
