Corel Painter X
Though not technically a photo-editing application, there's a lot for photographers in Corel Painter X. If you've ever admired the look of painting combined with photography, this is the application to use. It features an incredibly robust set of painting and drawing tools, with excellent implementation of touch-sensitive pen tablet support if you want to go freehand with a Wacom tablet.
New in this version of Painter are improved tools for photographers. The Underpainting palette lets you use brushstrokes to transform a photograph to give it the look of classic painting styles, using color palettes inspired by styles such as Impressionist, Watercolor and Chalk Drawing. You also can adjust the Underpainting palette to match the colors in your existing image. For an even quicker transformation from photo to painted photo, use the Auto-Painting palette to automatically re-create your photo with a hand-painted look in a variety of styles. With Auto-Painting, the software varies the size and direction of brushstrokes for a natural look while still maintaining photo-realistic detail.
