Photo Details

  • Title: Palm Sunset
  • State/Province/Region (required): Florida
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Area: Northweat Florida Panhandle
  • Nearest Town: Apalachicola/Eastpoint Florida
  • Description: Taken on the fill area at the Gorrie Bridge over the Apalachicola Bay from Eastpoint to Apalachicola, Florida.
  • Brief Directions: I grew up in this area and it has always been a place of beauty to me. It has a large river that empties into the bay where some of the best oysters in the world are harvested. There are beaches, marshes, and many boat photo opportunities available here.
  • Notes: In the summer bring sun lotion and bug spray as is needed most places in Florida. Just across another bridge is St George Island with many rental places. Some motels in Apalachicola. Very old city with beautiful old houses. Museum dedicated to John Gorrie who is credited with the invention of the first ice machine...leading to air conditioning.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Gear: Panasonic FZ7
