Photo Details
- Title: Chichen Itza
- State/Province/Region (required):
- Country (required): Mexico
- Nearest Area: Yucatan
- Nearest Town: Cancun
- Description: Chichén-Itzá is the most visited archaeological site in the peninsula of Yucatan, due to its extraordinary architecture beauty and its geographical location.
- Brief Directions: From Cancun: Take the Carretera towards Merida. You can take the "libre" or free road, which will take you through many different villages but will take a lot longer. The faster route, the Carretera or Cuota Road, costs money but it is faster and easier to follow if its your first time. Continue past Valladolid and take the Chichen Itza exit. Follow the signs to Piste. When the road dead-ends in Piste, turn left. When you see a toll sign poll with two large upper signs: one on your right to the Chichen Itza Ruin (also the road to Piste) and one on the left for the "Zona Hotelera" (Hotel Zone) take the left fork to the hotel zone. Approximately 1 KM after this fork is the hotel. Continue down the road until you see the Hacienda Chichen Resort and Yaxkin Spa Entrance sign on your left.
