• Description: A series of unplanned events led to a third day of shooting sunrise. Although I had plans to sleep in, the light and storm clouds were unlike anything I had seen before. I headed down to the Capitola Pier, a few minutes from my home. After a few test shots, I grabbed this one. A few minutes later the blue had faded to gray. Capitola is a quaint little town nestled on the Monterey Bay and is a great place to spend the day.
• Brief Directions: From Santa Cruz, head south of Highway 1 and take the 41st Ave exit and head towards the beach. At Capitola Rd, make a left and this will take you down into the village.

• Gear: Nikon D300, Tokina 11-16mm, Lee GND Filters, Gitzo tripod, Markins Ballhead, RRS clamp and L bracket
