After a day of diving in Carmel, I decided to stay down in the area south of Point Lobos known as Garrapata State Park. I explored a few coves and decided on one I have shot before. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the light show started and continued for a solid 20-30 minutes. I used a 30 second exposure to smooth over the water and draw more attention to the colors and light playing on the foreground rocks and horizon.

There are steep and unstable cliffs in this area, sometimes hazardous surf conditions, and plenty of poison oak, so tread cautiously!
