Description: November is the height of the bird migration season at Chincoteague NWR. The sunrise over the ponds and the beaches of Chincoteague and Assateague are absolutely gorgeous. The Sika Elk making their way across the water was an added bonus.
Brief Directions: From Washington DC, take Hwy 50 east to Cambridge,Md and then follow the signs to Chincoteague/Assateague Islands.
Best Season: Winter
