Photo Details

  • Title: Tranquil Sunrise At The Hamptons
  • State/Province/Region (required): New York
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Area: Montauk
  • Nearest Town: Montauk
  • Description: This was taken with my Nikon D40 using an 18-55mm lens at 55mm, f/5.6, exposure time 1/80, ISO=400. This came directly from my camera, no editing was done.
  • Brief Directions: This was taken on the beach fronting Ocean Beach Resort: (Address: 108 South Emerson Avenue Montauk, NY 11954). This is along S. Edgewater Ave
  • Notes: This was my first time in the Hamptons (NY). I was lucky to wake up early enough that morning. After taking a few pictures from the balcony of our hotel, I decided to wait for the sunrise and may be I'll be lucky enough to catch some photos despite the prediction of having overcast skies that day. True enough, with camera on hand and walking towards the beach, this unforgettable scene opened up before me. I almost fell down as I ran to get a better vantage point because sunsets lasts only for a few seconds.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Nikon D40 with 18-55mm lens
