• Description: Texas has such diverse landscapes! But you think of West Texas and that arid mesquite bush and cactus come to mind. But I found a tropical oasis in the Guadalupe Mountain National Park. Well developed trails invite anyone with a will down their path. Yeah, you see sunset pictures of El Capitan and the great RED mountain all the time. But can you imagine this photo was taken in a canyon just north of El Capitan a few miles! Lush vegetation, spring flowers, abundant wildlife (I even caught a picture of a red or gray squirrel munching on a cactus bloom!)
• Brief Directions: Smith Springs trail at Guadalupe Mountain National Park truly boasts some treasures along the trail.
• Best Season: Spring
