Photo Details

  • Title: White Light
  • State/Province/Region (required): California
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: Los Gatos
  • Description: Swan feather in late morning light
  • Brief Directions: Just north of Los Gatos (probably technically in Campbell Taken at the Perc Ponds on the west side of highway 17 following the Los Gatos Creek Trail .
  • Notes: This old swan has lived in the pond for years. He's the only swan I've seen there and I always feel so sorry for him. I think he knows everyone tries to take his picture and he doesn't like it one bit. On the day I shot this he happened to be pretty close to me but was paddling fast in the opposite direction. As he swam passed me I grabbed this picture, he had just spread his feathers for the briefest few seconds. I hadn't meant to not get his head, but man did I ever love it when I put it on my screen.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Panasonic FZ 100
