Photo Details

  • Title: Patience
  • State/Province/Region (required): Texas
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: Marfa
  • Description: This spider "lived" in a sunflower patch in the courtyard of the bungalow I stayed in while visiting Marfa. It took me three days to get this shot. I watched the spider capture numerous bees and flies over a few days. I could never quite get him to pose in what I considered the perfect setup! Finally, on my last day in Marfa, and sitting for a couple of hours tracking his movements, I got the shot I wanted.
  • Brief Directions: Spiders are not exactly cooperative models! I really had to commit to working with nature and exercising extreme patience. I set up a tripod, used manual focus, and literally just waited and waited for the opportune moment.
  • Notes: Have patience.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Gear: Canon EOS Rebel T3
