Photo Details
- Title: Flashback
- State/Province/Region (required): New York
- Country (required): United States
- Nearest Town: Levittown
- Description: Picture of a kid on a BMX bike doing a back 180 off a ledge. This picture was shot with slow shutter and fill-in-flash techniques not done in photoshop. I was laying on the floor as the stunt was thrown over me and the action was frozen. The motion blur in the picture suggest how fast the model was moving and how dedicated he was to the trick. The name "Flashback" came from the fact that i used a flash to freeze it and i am laying on my back to take the picture.
- Brief Directions: Shot using a slow shutter and fill in flash to create certain parts crisp and others motion blurred. Settings were: Shutter Speed: 1/40 F-Stop: f11 Lens: 28mm ISO: 200
- Notes: Take many trials to get the perfect position and make sure you are close enough that the flash will have time to capture certain parts of the images. It is important to also move with the subject and follow them until the picture is fully finished.Be careful with your camera due to the fact in some situations you will only be 2-5 feet from the action.
- Gear: Canon 40D / Speedlite 430ex
