Photo Details

  • Title: Day Of The Dead Celebration
  • State/Province/Region (required): California
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: Los Angeles, CA
  • Description: The Day of the Dead Festival at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles attracts many people dressed to celebrate and honor their loved ones. This woman was one of the talented folks who come to paint the faces of visitors for a nominal fee. Her own makeup out shone everyone.
  • Brief Directions: Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.
  • Notes: As soon as I saw her, I knew this woman would make a striking photograph. The background was very busy, with many colors and distractions, but I saw this finished image in my mind as I took the picture. I spent a lot of time in Photoshop Elements to achieve the image in my mind. I think it was worth the effort.
  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Gear: Nikon D7000
