Photo Details

  • Title: My Mother Being Held By My Grandfather
  • State/Province/Region (required): Iowa
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: Council Bluffs, IA
  • Description: This photograph was taken in the 1940's. My grandmother had the negatives 2x3 inches. I used a flatbed scanner to input the image. I then had to do multiple adjustments flipping the image around until I just got lucky at the above point. Then I had basically a recipe card on how to scan in the images and manipulate them.
  • Brief Directions: My Grandfather died in 1973. I had never seen photographs of him younger than his age at that time. The negatives were stored in a enevelope sliding against each other for 40 + years.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Brownie, flatbed scanner
