Photo Details

  • Title: The Most Important

  • Nearest Town: Queen Charlotte
  • Description: Quote to go with image: “We must each lead a way of life with self-awareness and compassion, to do as much as we can. Then, whatever happens we will have no regrets.” ~Dalai Lama This picture may seem simple and not very good to you, but to me this is a picture that showcases my whole life. I have lived on this island of Haida Gwaii for 16 years of my life, I am only 18 now. That is a long time in perspective to the other 2 (and a half) years I spent elsewhere. This spot is right behind the sign that says "Welcome To Queen Charlotte City!" and I have passed it countless times. All the days of the bus during Elementary, seeing whales and all the eagles and boats cover every inch of the water in this bay. Seeing this inlet so many times never gets old. Now I have the tools I need I just look at it the same way I did when I was little. Now I am leaving this place, possibly forever for University. I don't know if you all have had the same feeling, but it sort of sucks. I've always wanted to leave and see the world, but now that it's just a few more months before I do leave it's sort of stressful. I don't know if I will live the same or have to change everything about myself. I just know: to keep my eyes open, breathe and go slowly. This world is going to treat me good, I can feel it. I just have to see the real things around me like I did with this image.
