  • Description: SGang Gwaay llnagaay (Nan Sdins) is a ancient Haida village on one of the southernmost islands on Haida Gwaii. These poles will not be there for much longer, they are already disappearing into the earth. This remote area used to house over 800 Haida peoples before the smallpox hit it. Going to this village and seeing the remains of the houses, these totem poles that were at the front of their homes gives you chills. No picture could ever portray the feelings that place gives.

  • Notes: This picture is a HDR of 3 exposures taken from the side of the path around the village. Edited with Lightroom 4, Photoshop CS5.5, Photomatix 2.4
