Photo Details
- Title: Cadillac Ranch
- State/Province/Region (required): Texas
- Country (required): United States
- Nearest Town: Amarillo
- Description: These 12 Cadillacs were all buried nosedown at the same angle by an eccentric millionaire from Amarillo! Tourists are encouraged to paint their names & graffiti on the cars! Everybody takes photos here during daylight, but I wanted a more unique composition so I used a powerful spotlight and illuminated the vehicles at night to make the graffiti more colorful! There are no lights here, so I shined my spotlight on each car as I walked down the line and then on the way back I light-painted a circle on the ground around the cars so it looked like a beam of light was shining on them from above!
- Brief Directions: Cadillac Ranch is located a few miles west of Amarillo on I-40 about 100 yds. out in a field.
- Best Season: Spring
- Gear: Canon Rebel XSI, Tamron wide angle zoom lens, Manfrotto tripod, cable release
