Photo Details

  • Title: Zooming Flowers
  • State/Province/Region (required): Connecticut
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: New Britain
  • Description: A "Zooming" technique was used to take this picture of red tulips. The Pentax MZ S film camera was secured to a tripod and placed approximately 2 feet away from the tulips. The picture was composed with the lens zoomed in on the flowers and the exposure manually set to 1 second. Once the flowers were in focus, the cable release was pressed and the lens was manually "zoomed away" from the flowers during the 1 second exposure. The resulting image is a beautiful colorful abstract that shows motion. Pentax MZ S ISO 200 1 sec F22 Velvia Film Slide scanned and turned into a digital file.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Gear: Pentax MZ S with Tripod and Cable Release
