Description: This shot was captured at Pigeon Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse is an iconic shot for photographers the world over and we have visited on several occasions. On this particular afternoon, dramatic clouds presented themselves over the Pacific Ocean. Everyone around us was shooting the lighthouse, but I noticed the sun peaking through behind us, just above the observation deck.
Brief Directions: Highway 280 to Hwy 1 out of San Francisco. Continue on Hwy 1 past Pacific and Half Moon Bay. The lighthouse is well marked and an easy find.
Notes: Once a year the lighthouse is illuminated, usually in November. Get there early to set up for the best shots.
Best Season: Autumn
