Photo Details

  • Title: Egret At Dawn
  • State/Province/Region (required):
  • Country (required): Belize
  • Nearest Town: San Pedro, Belize, CA
  • Description: Snowy Egret fishing in the shallows off the beach early morning with storm clouds lurking in the background. I waded into the shallows while watching the bird out of the corner of my eye. A second after I took the shot, the bird had enough of me and flew off. Shot was taken with a Nikon FE-2 and a 200 mm lens, at 1/500 sec, f/16. Exposure was based on the highlight area with surrounding area allowed to go dark to produce a low key picture.
  • Brief Directions: Belize is a mostly scuba diving location in Central America.
  • Notes: This shot was taken on color negative film and scanned and the file finished up on Photoshop.
  • Best Season: Winter
  • Gear: Nikon FE-2
