  • Description: As I got out of the van after an hour and a half ride from Madrid, I immediately spotted my set up location for the shot early in the morning. I was hoping to arrive before the sun broke the horizon, but sometimes a photo opportunity usually doesn't go the way I want it to go. I rush across the street from the parking lot to get to the large rock sticking out in the middle of a green field of grass. I knew I wanted this rock to be part of the foreground in my composition. Now I hope the sun wasn't too high above the horizon. I was afraid the bright sun would over-expose the entire sky. I quickly set down my tripod and composed the sun to the left of the tallest structure. I kept the small aperture of f/16 to get a nice starburst from the sun. As it turns out, the sun was at the best spot I could ever want it to be.
