Photo Details

  • Title: Bright Yellow Spotted Blossom
  • State/Province/Region (required): Oregon
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: Charleston
  • Description: Strolling through the paths of Shore Acres State Park with my husband is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Holding his loving hand in mine as my senses take in the sights and aromas is always very peaceful and relaxing. On one such journey we spotted these yellow blossoms in the shadowy edges near the park's large cottage-style home. With each blossom only lasting 24 hours, the Tiger Flower is always a treat to see!
  • Brief Directions: From Coos Bay, Oregon, take Cape Arago Hwy through Charleston. After crossing the bridge, go up the hill. From here, take it straight for quite a few miles. You will pass a road pointing to Bastendorf beach, keep going. When you've passed Sunset Beach (be sure to at least take a glance at that beauty!) you know you're getting close. About 1/4 of a mile down the road from there on your right-hand side is the entrance to one magnificent park!
  • Notes: Be sure to either take $5 bucks along or find a place to park and hike in. It's $5 per car load at Shore Acres, but there are many hiking trails in the area and they welcome visitors to take the scenic route and walk on in for free!
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Gear: Kodak Easy Share M381
