White Sands National Monument has been photographed many times over. It's an amazing place, but I tried to do something different than the usual Yucca on top of a Dune shot. Nothing wrong with those, I have made plenty myself, just wanted to show the essence of the moving sands (gypsum really) as they swallow Yuccas and other plant life. Amazingly, Yuccas can recover the first time they are taken over by a dune, but not the second time.

In the winter, early spring, and late fall it can get pretty cool, so bring proper clothing.

Love the texture of the gypsum dune, I have taken a few of those "generic" yucca in the dune pictures myself. Your approach is very beautiful and differnt. Nicely done!
