Photo Details

  • Title: Moon Glow At Bass Harbor
  • State/Province/Region (required): Maine
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Town: Bass Harbor
  • Description: To obtain a good photographic position requires climbing over and around numerous boulders. This shot was made in mid-morning with the camera set to make it appear as if moonlight was contributing total illumination.
  • Brief Directions: Located a short distance off of SR 102A, Bass Light has an adequate parking area and rest room facilities. The best view of the light and light house requires a short walk and then negotiating a 25-30 wooden step staircase to sea level.
  • Notes: During the spring and summer, the best time to photograph Bass Light is in the early morning and at low tide.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Gear: Canon, 40D; Tamron 18-250mm, 3.5-6.3 (IF)
