- Description: In 1998, 200 black and white Americans participated in the Interfaith Pilgrimage of the Middle Passage which retraced the route of slavery in the United States by walking from the Peace Pagoda in Leverett, MA to New Orleans. It was an intensely traumatic, but life-changing experience for all who took part. In 2008, members held a 10th anniversary reunion that ended with a ceremony honoring both our ancestors and ourselves for our commitment to heal the wounds of slavery and racism in America.
