Photo Details

  • Title: Looking Into The Past
  • State/Province/Region (required): Wyoming
  • Country (required): United States
  • Nearest Area: Wind River Mountains
  • Nearest Town: South Pass
  • Description: This is an old minning town called Minners Delight (aka Hamilton City). There are only a few reminates left of the old log cabins from 1867-1868. All that is left of this particular house is one full wall and a fraction of another. Christian is looking from the inside to the outside (you can see the aspen tree growing next to him). Not far from this town is also a small local cemetary. Some of the inscriptions are getting harder to read now due to weathering.
  • Brief Directions: The location of this town is hard to find if you are not a local. It is about 5 miles from South Pass City (poplated with a handful of people and pets) and 3.5 miles from Atlantic City (also mildly populated). All three towns are just south of Lander, WY.
  • Best Season: Summer
  • Gear: Sony 350Alpha
