• Description: Glen Canyon National Recreation Area covers areas in Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. At 1.2 million acres the opportunities for photography and all manner of outdoor activities abound here.
• Brief Directions: From Marble Canyon go East on Highway 89 Alt. and turn left right before the Navajo Bridge. Go to the end of the road and look for the signs for the Dell Lonesome Ranch and the gravel road turnoff.
• Notes: Clouds were thick when I got to the trailhead at the Dell Lonesome Ranch. The overcast stuck around for about another half hour or so as I shot photos along the Paria River. As the sun rose some breaks in the clouds allowed some really nice light to reveal the Vermilion Cliffs in all their glory. The cottonwoods in the middle distance were an added bonus.
