I was over at my soon to be brother-in-laws house when his father stopped by. At this time I had only met his father once before but I knew that he valued working endlessly and tirelessly for his family as his way of showing that he cared for and loved them. One look at him and I knew he was not the kind of guy you ask to take a picture of. As he worked on up-keeping their now deceased grandfather's John Deere lawnmower repair business I quietly and unobtrusively identified unique opportunities to make a portrait that truly identified the character of the man I was photographing.
This was my favorite image of the several I took that day.
Shot with my Contax Carl Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f1,7 adapted to my Canon XSI. Handheld and shot at f2.8.
The image was processed in Adobe ACR and Photoshop for the final image result.
