  • Description: Horicon Marsh is the largest fresh water cattail marsh in the United States. It is co-managed as a state and national wildlife refuge. Spring is a great time to go there for the migration. It is a wonderful stopping off point for migrating waterfowl. The pelicans along with many herons, egrets, and ducks will visit thoughout the summer and into fall.
  • Brief Directions: Located northwest of Milwaukee, about an hours drive. Close enough for frequent day trips.
  • Best Season: Spring
  • Gear: Pentax K20D with Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
