- Description: Here in the Summer Palace in Beijing, we were told by our guide that we would be as interesting to the Chinese as they were to us. They would want to take our pictures, maybe even want to be in the picture with us. The woman with her back to the camera had just taken our picture, and when I raised my camera in return, the woman to the left waved. There was a moment when we, and I think they, knew we were friends, a part of one world.
