- Nearest Area: South Lake Tahoe
- Nearest Town: South Lake Tahoe
- Description: The weather was finally right this morning. Almost no wind and a small amount of drifting clouds so, I set my alarm for 3am. I drove across town and up the west shore towards Emerald Bay guided by the full moon. I reached the trail head for Cascade Falls at Bay View campground about 3:30am,parked, packed my camera bag, and started my 2 mile hike to the falls. The moon was so bright I hiked with no light most of the way. This shot was actually on the way out looking across Cascade Lake and beyond to Lake Tahoe. If you look you can see the drag marks on the granite from a glacier long gone. The smooth reflective surface is from fine partials in the ice slowly polishing the stone.
- Best Season: Spring
- Gear: Nikon d50
