- Description: Grand Falls, on the Little Colorado River in northern Arizona, only runs when water from snowmelt reaches this geological feature. The falls are higher than Niagra Falls and the water runs thick with sediment. The other name for the falls is "Chocolate Falls"! This photo was taken after sunset. I stayed to catch the afterglow on the clouds, which cast a pink glow on the scene.
