- Description: After hiking half a mile up and down the dunes, I set up my gear on a ridge overlooking the tallest dune to grab the sweet light of sunset. As the light faded, the dunes began to glow this soft, gold color. The dried lakebed in the foreground gives an indication of what is under several hundred feet of sand. And if you look closely, footprints in the sand lend perspective to the size of the area.
- Brief Directions: Death Valley National Park near Stovepipe Wels.
