- Description: Walking through snow the morning after having the mountain tops covered; our foot steps are crunching with every movement. Cold and windy, I noticed that it was cold enough to freeze the tire tracks from one of the rangers making his rounds.
- Brief Directions: Make your way to Contra Costa and follow Ygnacio Valley Road east turning right onto Oak Grove Road. Turn left onto Northgate Road and continue up to the ranger station, go left at the split onto Summit Road and continue until you reach the top.
- Best Season: Spring
- Gear: Nikon D90 with the AF-S Nikkor 12-24mm 1:4G ED
