NISSIN FLASH

The Nissin Di700 Flash augments the previous model's features in an easy-to-use design, making it friendly for beginners while meeting the needs of professionals. The focal-range coverage reaches from 24mm to 200mm, with a maximum output of GN50 at 200mm. The swivel/tilt bounce head has a horizontal rotation of 180 degrees, left and right, and tilts up 90 degrees and down 7 degrees. The Nissin Di700 is equipped with external power sockets for connecting to the Nissin Power Pack PS 8, which decreases the recycling time and increases the number of flashes. Great for quick action photography, it supports High Speed Sync up to a 1/8000 sec. shutter speed. Estimated Street Price: $299. Contact: Nissin, www.nissindigital.com.

WIDE GLASS

Sigma has added the 18-35mm ƒ/1.8 DC HSM lens to its Art collection. Made out of Thermal Stable Composite (TSC) compound materials, it performs well at extreme temperatures, and with its small size and weight—3.1x4.8 inches, 28.6 ounces—it's the perfect addition to your bag. The Super Multi-Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting, and increases contrast, while the Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) maintains a silent high-speed autofocus function. The 9-blade rounded diaphragm produces a smooth bokeh with the large aperture. It's compatible with the Sigma USB dock for firmware updates and focus parameter adjustments. Estimated Street Price: TBA. Contact: Sigma, www.sigmaphoto.com.

COLUMN "Y"

The unique design of the Giottos YTL Tripod makes it a light and easy travel companion. The new "Y"-shaped center column adds strength and rigidity to the tripod while also allowing the legs to close 30% closer to the center than traditional round center columns, reducing bulk and weight. The legs have three adjustable angle positions with separate locks on each leg. The Giottos Quick Lever leg lock system and index markers on the lowest leg section make setup smooth even with gloved hands. The 2-way version allows you to raise, lower and reverse the center column, while the 3-way version allows you to move through 180 degrees and lock the center column where needed. Available in aluminum or carbon fiber. Estimated Street Price: $149-$456. Contact: Giottos (HP Marketing Corp.), www.hpmarketingcorp.com.
